Ahh… Fall… It’s one of my favorite times of the year! Although I look forward to the change of all seasons, Fall ignites my energy on many levels. I love all the rich jewel tones, warm colors, dark sultry vibes, and vampy, witchy transformative  looks. It’s the season that represents freedom and allows you to reset your energy that inspires change. Whether it be freedom of creative expression or just soaking in the time of the year where you can be extra imaginative with less boundaries, I’ve crafted a list of Fall Makeup Trends of 2022 that will help set the pace!

  1. Fresh Brows

A minimalist and simplified brow has graced the runways and magazines as of recently. With in inspiration pulled from a new generation’s crave for authenticity and rawness, many are loving the idea sticking to the natural brow shape. Create an effortless, fresh looking eyebrow look by using a brow gel or brow glue to lift and set all the hairs up and a brow pen to sketch in tiny hair stokes that help fill in sparse areas and add definition.

2. Bleached Brows

If looking futuristic and ethereal sounds like your vibe, you’re going to love jumping on this trend! Closely related to the fresh brow look, this takes the softer appeal to the next level by taking away the harshness of the latter trends and replacing it with an invisible aesthetic. As effortless as it looks, it actually calls for a few essential steps to create the perfect faux bleached finish. Start by using a concealer in at least 2 shades lighter than your skin and coat the brows using a spoolie. Due to the framing effect that eyebrows give your face, you’ll need to redefine them by using a yellow based taupe or light warm brown eyeshadow with an eyeliner brush or firm angled brush. Create definition and structure by lightly shading the bottom of the eyebrow for a framing effect then blend it upwards into the brow.

3. Ultra Winged Eye

This trend pulls inspiration from the long sought after almond eyes feature. If you’ve studied facial anatomy for makeup creation, this has historically been portrayed as the most aesthetically pleasing eye shape with the intension of making the eyes look elongated, alluring and even sultry. This is achieved by using eyeshadow, eyeliner and eyelashes that flare out in winged shape.

4. Graphic Eyeliner

It’s time to get artsy with liquid liner! One of this seasons hottest trends has come straight off the runway with eyeliner that makes a statement. At first glace, it could be considered tribal. Outlining the shape of your eyelids and using geometric lines will create a statement look in either black or in the color of your outfit. If this seems overwhelming at first, start with an elongated and thicker wing liner in a complimentary color to your outfit.

5. Red and Berry Lips

A strong pigmented lip is a classic beauty trend that seems to be a first pick for brides and many attending social functions for this fall. Variations in the seasons warmer shades such a brick, brownish red, deep brownish plum, deep peach, reddish bronze, deep violet plums, and warm burgundy have been top picks.

6. Full Fluffy Lashes

Clients are choosing statement lashes to accentuate their eyes in regal styles that match their comfort level from small to the most fluffy. From magnetic lashes, lash extensions to the classic and glamourous strip lash, you’ll not want to miss this flirty, ultra girly lash trend. Batting your lashes will never be more fun!

7. Glossy Eyelids, Lips and Face

Pulling inspiration from the 90’s grudge moment, clients feel nostalgic as they take a trip to the past with a lived-in smudged eyeshadow look. This look has a very easy and carefree feel to it. Whether you are attending happy hour with the girls or need a quick look for an editorial photoshoot, this look is a go to. To create this look from products that you may already own, apply a layer of eye gloss across your eyeshadow using your finger tips. Next, apply  gloss on your lips and intensify your highlighter by dabbing the same lip gloss across your cheek bones. Since gloss can be quite sticky, you may want to avoid applying it to the eyelid creases. Start with a little and add more as desired for a high fashion effect. You’ll be left with a dewy, hydrated and trendy glow.

8. Bedazzled Faces

If you love a little glitz and glamour, this trend will leave you ultra satisfied with its sparkling over-the-top allure! The boldest trend seekers have welcomed this look from red carpets to private parties. A sprinkling of rhinestones across the hairline, a few under your eyebrow, precisely placed in the center of top and bottom lash line, or across the entire lash line, you can really get as creative as your inner diva calls with placement. To achieve this look, head to the nearest beauty supply store for very small rhinestones and clear lash glue. A quick and easy application method is to coat the end of a small makeup brush with either melted candle wax or lash glue and let it dry completely. Dab your clear adhesive on the areas you’d like to stick the stones then use the your applicator tool to pick up and stick on the stones. This allows for a convenient rhinestone application.

9. Underpainted Blush

Cream and liquid makeup products have been popularized by many content creators, using a pre-foundation application for a very diffused under glow effect. Using a contrasting amount of liquid or cream blush is great for creating glow from within. Start by buffing an ample amount of your cream blush on the cheeks to the outer edge of the temple, along the eye crease out edge, across the nose and a smaller amount on the forehead and chin. Blend out with a dampened beauty blender and proceed to apply a foundation using careful attention while lightly blending on top of the blushed areas. A money saving, old school trick is to use lipstick instead of cream blush!

10. Blurred Lips

A lived in aesthetic has arrived to the lips as well with the purposely diffused gradient lip stains and colors. This trend is focused on creating a gradient effect starting with a darker color on the inner part of the lips that fades out to a blurred edge. Funnily, it looks as if the wearer had drank a Slurpee from 711 and is left with the evidence. To create this look, start with a lipstick and apply it in the center of both lips almost to the edge. Next use either a q-tip or fluffy brush to fade out the edge to the end of the lip line. Add a lip gloss as a finishing touch. Ladies whom feel insecure with larger lips are loving this look due to its minimizing effect.
